3rd and
1st at the Closing Rounds - with an injured hand and
without a clutch!
The driver
pairing of Hunter Abbott and Nigel Redwood qualified on
pole for the final two races of the season
and finished the season on a high, winning the final
round.
But bad
weather, a failing clutch and a broken hand made the
weekend hard work for the driver pairing.

Redwood Motorsport 2003 into 2004 |
|
7th overall in the Formula
Ford Championship in 2003 was a disappointing result for Nigel,
however it was an invaluable year where many lessons were learnt.
During 2003,
Nigel also raced with ex formula one driver Martin Donnelly in the Radical
Enduro Championship. They raced 10 races together, winning three, finishing
second in five with 2 DNF's due to mechanical failure. Race wins came in the
form of a dominant performance at Spa and on the last race of the season at
Donnington.
It is sports car racing that
Nigel has chosen to further his career in 2004, securing a drive with Team
MDR in the Dunlop Radical Enduro Championship. Based over 26 100km races,
where the racing is shared between two drivers with mandatory pit stops and
driver changes. Nigel has teamed up with ex rival Damian Byrne
and Hunter Abbott and all three
drivers are looking forward to an exciting season, with one aim, two WIN the
championship. |
